General Rules for Hostel Students:

1. Ragging in any form is STRICTLY forbidden in the hostel; if someone is found to engage in such practices, strict action will be initiated.

2. Visitors (including parents/guardians) will have to make entries in the ‘Guest Register’ available with the Security Guard.

3. Students are expected to mark entries in the ‘Hostel Students Register’ if they are leaving the hostel premises (for personal work and/or local/outstation trips).

4. Unauthorized guests are NOT allowed to stay in the student’s room.

5. Students are solely responsible for the safety of their belongings.

6. Students are expected to carefully handle/use the hostel facilities, furniture etc. If any misuse/tampering is observed then appropriate action would be initiated by the Hostel In-charge.

7. Students are advised to use water and electricity judiciously avoiding wastage/misuse. If any abuse/misuse is found, then appropriate fine would be levied for the offending students.

8. Students are expected to drop the disposable-waste/garbage only at the Garbage Collection Box available inside hostel premises.

9. Students should NOT use the hostel housekeeping staff for their personal works.

10. Any situation of illness/accident/injury must be immediately reported to the Hostel In-charge.

11. Students suffering from any contagious disease will NOT be allowed to stay inside the hostel premises.

12. Without prior permission from the Hostel In-charge, students are forbidden to organize any event/celebration inside hostel premises.

13. The hostel authorities have the full discretion regarding the allotment of room-furniture etc.; genuine requests for any exchange would be entertained solely as per the discretion of the Hostel In-charge.

14. Matters like disputes among students and complaints regarding theft shall be brought to the notice of Hostel In-charge.

15. No police complaint shall be registered by a student without prior permission from the Hostel In-charge.

16. Students who indulge in abusive/indecent language, physical conflicts, and use of power for accomplishing any unfair/unlawful activities etc. will be liable for strict action/punishment. In addition, they may be expelled from the Hostel/Institute.

17. Students are strictly forbidden to keep any firearms, lethal weapons, poisonous substances and/or intoxicants of any kind in the Hostel.

18. Students are advised to read the Hostel Notice Board regularly.

19. Institute/Hostel authorities do NOT hold any responsibility in case any eventuality occurs during the personal visits of students (outside hostel premises).

20. Cooking inside the hostel room is NOT permitted.
